A bit about me...
From the hours poured into oil portraits of loved ones to designing posters for organizations I'm passionate about, art and design have always been a part of my life. When I discovered the field of UX, a light bulb beamed as it combined my love for design with my preference for proven approaches.
I was lucky enough to experience design critiques guided by UX principles and processes while getting my BFA in Communication Design with a concentration in UX. Currently working as a product designer at 3Leaf, a consultancy, we emphasize design psychology and principles in our design process. I've learned to incorporate UX research practices and principles into real-world products with tight deadlines in this environment. Seeing how the designers and researchers I work with approach problems in ways outside of my imagination inspires me immensely. I actively work towards becoming like those I respect.
My personal design philosophy references Design Thinking. Starting with empathizing and then moving on to designing and iterating, this identifies the core idea of UX for me. More than just something pretty, UX design aims to solve problems. With every project requiring unique needs, understanding how to apply and adapt design thinking to projects is critical to a successful project.
